The Great Britain Festival KSA, organized by Granada Center, has brought together a number of prominent British brands spanning retail, food, tourism and education sectors, in Riyadh.
The festival, which opened on Feb. 11, continues till Feb. 17.
Inaugurating the festival, British Ambassador Simon Collis said: “As we celebrate a century of friendship with Saudi Arabia this year, the Great festival at Granada Mall is a wonderful opportunity for us to share the very best of British fashion, food, design, tourism and education with our Saudi friends. The UK is a global leader in retail, design and luxury goods and these brands are well suited to take their place in the fast growing and extremely discerning consumer markets of Saudi Arabia.”
Salman Albaiz, executive director, Granada Center, said, “Granada Center is keen to host such events, which enrich the visitor’s knowledge of other communities’ culture. I appreciate the British Embassy support for this event that coincides with the commemoration of 100 years of diplomatic relations between the two Kingdoms. I hope this event will increase the number of the UK brands, which will accordingly increase employment opportunities for the Saudis.”
The festival is sponsored by Majid Al-Futtaim’s Carrefour, one of the anchor stores at the mall.
The festival offers a treat for car enthusiasts with some of the best British design and engineering featuring Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and the Mini Cooper. A star attraction at the event is Aston Martin’s DB10 which features in the recent James Bond film Spectre.
Visitors to the mall can find out more about studying or traveling to the UK.
Activities during the week include British food cooking demonstrations by British chef Gary. Participating retail brands include Austin Reed, Cath Kidston, Dune London, Marks and Spencer, Monsoon, Ted Baker, The Body Shop and Lush.
